Renter's Delight

Today I logged on for what I thought would be a nice relaxing null roam. As I was gently caressing my shiny new Keres and putting my headset on, I heard the familiar "Carrier tackled in null". Unsure of how many inties we had on field, and not really having anything more useful anyways, I grabbed my trusty mal and zipped out to the target system along with a few other tacklers. As I was moving, I heard one of the scouts mention that a second carrier was in warp to the site. Oh goody! I thought. Two quick carrier smashes before the roam.

I landed on grid and zoomed out to help point the second archon, who had bounced off of a perfectly placed drag bubble, just outside rep range of his buddy. We didn't have much dps yet, and we would have to hold everything down until we could get a proper fleet in. Our bubblers were on point (get it??) and made my job easy. As more of our dps came in and started to whittle down the first archon, we noticed another two on dscan. They land, again out of rep range of their bros, and we work on keeping them all separated while the first carrier goes down.

So far the carriers hadn't been able to apply much dps to us, as they weren't really fit properly for clearing out small ships, and I don't recall any depots going down. Then a webby smartbomby loki landed on grid and started to pin down our pilots for the carriers. They only managed to catch one ishtar and one sabre before our logi were set up to heal, and after that we were able to bring down the loki and another archon. Once that pesky loki was out of the way, and with the timely arrival of some Curses, the remaining two archons went down despite being in triage. One of the pilots had a rather nice pod as well. An archon pilot reshipped to a purifier and tried to bomb our drones, but was quickly blapped.

A yolosweglfar going into siege
During all that fracas, someone noticed that the cyno jammer was offline. As if to answer our prayers, eight thanatoses and another archon appeared on dscan and soon landed on grid. Our FC ordered the new gang bubbled and a cyno lit to bring in a yolosweglfar. While waiting on the dread, the new carriers managed to take down several of our ships with concentrated sentry fire. Then our sweglfar came in, warped to me as I was still alive and relatively close to the thannies, went into siege, and started melting down the caps. The rest of the fight went quickly - in the space of ten minutes we asploded all 9 carriers and a moros that they managed to cyno in before the jammer was back up. The pods were icing on the cake - many of them contained sets of mid-grade slaves and 5% hardwirings. The only other subcap support they could muster up was the same lonely purifier pilot who returned for another bombing run and was again asploded.

A lovely image that Shirralia made about this

After the dust settled, we looted what we could and extracted back our wormhole. Someone compiled the battle report - 7 losses on our side versus 35 of theirs, 14 of which had been caps, for a total loss of nearly 52b. As it turns out, the entire opposing force, indeed the whole corp, was manned by a single player. He was a notorious carebeary multiboxer, and to add insult to injury, had been similarly dunked by a temporary wormhole coalition not three weeks ago. The battle report shows a nearly identical scenario - same cap pilots, same weak subcap support, same cyno jammer decisions that allowed a single dread pilot to wreak havoc.
